Default What is best against charrs in hardmode.

I normal mode double MM combo with nice spread of other professions does a good job of sorting out charr. They are totally whacky in hardmode. Doing Blood washes Blood and having to deall with all "theres a fly in my soup" Vaittirs and then going thru to do Madrigors and Charrs is very daunting.

When expecting charr encounters I tend to take dual P/W's with 2x Defensive Anthem and 1x "Watch Yourself!" + "Shields Up!" and a debuff/interrupt N/Me, then Mhenlo, Lina, Herta and Zho. That is certainly not the only working combination, just check that there are enough blocking skills to shield your party from charr warriors and rangers.

Blood Washes Blood is indeed a long mission. However, if you start from Longeye's Ledge you'll be able to reach the shrine much easier than if you started from Sifhalla (there's only one mob of Jotuns in Bjora that you have to kill and there are fewer vaettirs between the portal and the shrine than between the northern gate and the shrine).

When the actual mission starts, there are three points where you have to be particularly careful. Immediately after entering Bjora you must take your time and watch patrol routes, then pull them one at a time to a safer place to avoid multiple aggro. Around the bear shrine the boss mobs patrol around and depending on your approach angle you might have to pull them downslope to prevent other mobs' monks healing those that you fight. Finally, the boss mob at the end of the mission is pretty tough. Monk boss, dominator, nuker, 3 warriors. I found out that the best strategy is to first lure the nuker's AoE to a harmless place, then group hug the boss (he spams heal area) and kill the dominator (who has the hard rez), then the nuker before his spells have recharged, then the boss and finally the warriors that you could safely ignore until then if you had WAM and DA running as suggested.

You don't have to fight anything in Bjora marches when leaving from Longeye Ledge. Well, I never have anyway.

Yep it is easy to run through without aggroing anything. The vaettirs around the shrine you need to pull a nice long way away. It is far to easy to aggro 3-4 groups at once.

For the BwB mission itself, make sure you have UB on your skillbar to start with. Then you don't have to fight all the way up and over. You can just head more or less directly east. The groups in the final area seem to be much easier to deal with coming in through the bottom gate too.

I never thought about UB on the skill bar. When we got UB from the shrine which is I think at level 10 two of us had no problems until we ran into two dominators and did not attack them severally. Dominators are the major toughees there. Thanks for the heads up. I like the double paragon Party poopers idea.

Just take an obsi tank with the pve only ward skils, that gives +48 armor vs. charrs

the rest of the group consists of the typical 1-2 Splitter Barragers with 1 having for all cases frozen Soil in the bar to stop charr warriors, mesmers and monks from ressing...

2 monks ..1 Healers Boon Group healer, 1 the typical active prot with bathatar bond ect. for the tank..
1 SS echo Necro... and 2-3 Nuking eles
If you either take only 1 Splitter barrager, then 3 eles... if you take only 1 ranger and 2 eles..then you can take also 1 spirit spammer for passive support to give the whole party for certain time better defensive or life regeneration as logn the ghosts are living, what they do long enough ,when they get setted in safe sports out of aggro, while the obsi is tanking

PS. naturally should all have the vanguard title active and as high as possible, for addional defense vs. charr (which works also in tyria) and for energy regeneration for killing charr and additional boost for adrenaline if needed

I think it's actually harder to get to the mission that to beat it. Patience pulling the vaettir's is necessary - they come in groups of 4-5 which are relatively easy to kill, but you have to be super careful (as someone stated above, it's far too easy to pull 3-4 groups, and you will die).

As for the mission itself, reckless haste and enfeebling blood greatly reduce the effectiveness of the melee warriors and of the archers. Target dominators first, as they have res chant. The ritualist charr also have flesh of my flesh. If there is an elementalist in the group, slap them with pain inverter and then target the dominator. Pull carefully so you don't aggro more than one groups, as that just hurts. If there are two dominators, almost kill one and then switch to the other, and try to kill them both with the ursan AoE attack. If one of them gets to res the other, kill the ressed one as quickly as possible, before he has a chance to recover from the res. If there is a healer in the group, you can usually out-damage him to kill a squishy target - I'd recommend taking them in this order - dominators->ritualists->elementalists->healers->archers->melee.
